Healthcare + Infographics

A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

We all know that in recent years, the need to keep fresh and stimulating images has spread to many aspects of online design. Image sharing has jumped from platforms like instagram and Flickr and into our digital marketing assets. Images infiltrate everything from our websites and blogs to our newsfeeds. The reasoning behind this is simple: People, we love looking at pictures! Particularly images that come with content. It's much easier to recall the topic of an article or blog post when you have an image in your head to associate it with. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. Hence, where infographics come into play.

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Infographics are a visual collection of information. This information can be displayed as a graph or diagram, even a flowchart or cartoon. Infographics use these images to convey a visual representation of the “data” that accompany them.
Infographics present their own form of obstacles. For one, you have to know your graphic design basics. Those in the healthcare field rarely have skills in the basics of design software tools. Still, medical offices and other kinds of healthcare facilities can benefit greatly from the use of Infographics, keeping their clients/patients/etc interested in what they're saying without sacrificing their message. If your practice is considering using infographics, here are a few things you should keep in mind.

People like to look at things. Visual stimulation is one of the most valuable tools available to your marketing strategy. Infographics help add a certain level of appeal to content heavy messages. They’re a great way to keep a prospective patient’s attention when they’re doing their research.

You’ll show your expertise. Medical blogs aren’t uncommon, and if you’re thinking of throwing your hat in the ring, you’ll have a lot of competition. Infographics are a great way to establish yourself among your competitors and keep the readers attention, while showing your expertise and willingness to keep up with the times!

And Finally…

The Share Factor. The great part about putting your name and expertise on an image is the ability to share. When your infographic is shared, not only does it present you to a group who may not have seen you before and spread knowledge of your name, but it establishes you as a source of knowledge, expertise, and skill, which will draw people to you and your practice.
